Originally from Arizona, I moved to Texas as quickly as I could. I am continually amazed at how at home I feel here. Though I love the desert, the lush, green hill country is my promised land. God led me here in 1999, and most days I feel like a native citizen. I've made some great friends, and feel truly blessed in life.
I came late to this life adventure called mommyhood; our son was born in August 2010 when I was well into my 30's, and I continue to be surprised by how much I love being a stay-at-home mom. Travis is the delight of my world, and I am so excited to see what this new chapter in our lives brings.
I live near Austin with my husband, Ken, our son, Travis, and our dog, Saige. Before staying home, I was a Technical Writer, and I still try to hone my skills and learn new things because it really is a part of who I am. Though I miss aspects of my work, I love staying home with Travis, and am so thankful for a husband that lovingly supports me. I love being able to watch Travis grow and play. We try to keep busy to fuel his active mind.
Since our family lives far away, my hope is that this blog keeps them in touch with how he's growing in addition to helping me branch out into a different style of writing: something a little more creative and more related to my passions, which are God, family, sewing, crafting, England, and reading. So hopefully, you'll find something interesting on my site that's not just all about my kid.
